Referring an exotic companion mammal

For primary care veterinarians in Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area.

Dr. Logan Kopp, DVM, DABVP (Exotic Companion Mammal Practice), FABVP-CAPM, is Nashville's exotic companion mammal specialist. He is the only veterinarian currently practicing in Tennessee as a Diplomate in Exotic Companion Mammal Practice, and he sees referral cases at Priest Lake Veterinary Hospital. That includes rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, rats, mice, degus, and other legally owned companion mammals such as foxes and squirrels. He does not treat birds or reptiles.

After the visit or procedure, your patient comes back to you for ongoing care, along with a full written summary.

How to refer

Send the hospital referral form, call (615) 361-4646, or email info@priestlakevet.com. The hospital is at 2445 Morris Gentry Blvd, Nashville, TN 37013. If the animal is painful, bloated, or shocky, call before transfer instead of finishing the workup.

After hours, Dr. Kopp consults with Veterinary Emergency Group in Franklin, Murfreesboro, and West Nashville and can provide surgical care for exotic companion mammal emergencies when needed.
